LOCATIONS:

With its headquarters in Crystal City (Arlington), Virginia, SIM maintains branch offices in Washington, DC; Chesapeake, VA; Charleston, SC; Havelock, NC; Tampa, FL; New Orleans, LA; and San Diego, CA. Because of its presence across the country, and across the world, the SIM team has the ability to support efforts involving multiple warfare centers, field activities and homeports. SIM has been awarded work as the Prime Contractor in the four Performance Zones (Zones 2, 3, 4 & 6) in which we have offices. The following discusses the SIM presence in each of these four zones.

National Capital Zone - 2 back to top
The National Capital Zone is supported by the SIM offices in Crystal City, Arlington, Virginia, and in Washington, DC. These offices receive tasking from the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren and Port Hueneme Divisions as well as from the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Headquarters. Additional tasking comes from the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

The Washington DC office provides Financial Management and Program Management Support by identifying and documenting on a program basis, activities associated with availability, allocation, and milestone status. It also provides data analysis and resource management tracking; analysis of resource management planning and execution data; and tracks procurement recommendations for new tasking and modifications to current tasks. It reviews database information, documentation and approved changes and reports cost and schedule changes. SIM personnel compile and maintain audit trail and back-up documentation to support program office actions that must be reconciled.

The SIM Crystal City office tasking includes modeling and simulation support, systems engineering, specification and standards, combat system engineering services and the preparation of technical documentation. The Crystal City office has also received tasking from PM-4 at NSWC Crane to support the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Naval Ammunition Interchangeability Working Group in the areas of naval ammunition and NATO Standardization Agreements (STANAGs).

The Mid-Atlantic Zone is supported by SIM offices in Chesapeake, Virginia; Havlock, North Carolina; and Hanahan (Charleston), South Carolina. Current tasking for these offices principally comes from the NSWC Dam Neck, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Systems Center (SSC), Charleston, SC, and the USMC Base Camp Lejeune, NC.

The Chesapeake office provides program management, system integration, engineering, installation, integrated logistic support (ILS) management, configuration management, test and checkout, software development, database management, equipment acquisition, acquisition management, system and equipment modification, systems training, documentation, research, and In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) services in support of electronic and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems.

The Chesapeake office provides these services worldwide under numerous contracts with NAVSEA Dam Neck, Combat Direction Systems Activity (formerly the NSWC - Port Hueneme Division/Dam Neck Detachment [NSWC-PH/DN]), SPAWAR Systems Center Charleston, the Military Sealift Command (MSC), and other Federal Agencies worldwide through the Franchise Business Activity-San Antonio for Life Cycle Support initiatives.

The SIM South Carolina office provides program management, system integration, engineering, security engineering, ILS management, configuration management, acquisition management, financial management, systems training, documentation, research, and ISEA services in support of electronic and C4ISR systems.

The SIM North Carolina office provides range design, development, and operations support to the U.S. Marine Corps Base at Camp Lejeune.

Two SIM offices are located in the Gulf Coast Zone--the New Orleans, LA, office and Tampa, FL, office. Tasking for these offices comes from SPAWAR and U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) respectively.

The SIM New Orleans office provides program management, system integration, system implementation, integrated logistic support (ILS) management, and administrative support in support of the Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System (NSIPS). All support is provided directly to the NSIPS program management office, located at the SPAWAR Technology Center in New Orleans.

The SIM Tampa office provides acquisition, logistics, management, and business operations support to the (USSOCOM) at MacDill Air Force Base. Specific contractual tasking includes program monitoring, documentation generation, review and analysis, management support, requirements documentation services, administrative support, public affairs, accounting and budgeting, joint resource management, readiness planning and reporting, personnel reporting, procurement support, and other business for USSOCOM headquarters, components, Theater Special Operations Commands (SOCs) and the services (Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps) that have or provide direct support to Special Operations Forces (SOF).

The Southwest Zone is supported by the SIM office in San Diego, CA. Tasking for this office comes from NSWC Pt. Hueneme, SPAWAR, and SSC San Diego. It includes:
• Analysis of corrective and maintenance actions, casualty reports (CASREPTS), fleet feedback reports and other reliability and maintainability data to identify potential reliability and maintainability-related problems, providing Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) parameters and trends for component/part problem areas to the Logistics and Quality Assurance Teams
• Conducting Site Surveys/Material Condition Reviews and Pre-Overhaul Test and Inspections on Interior Communication Switchboards
• Assembling Combat Systems Switchboards
• Preparing presentations, briefings and documentation
• Repairing switches, connectors, back-shells, and cables associated with combat systems and interior communication switchboards.
